Fibre art holds a unique space in visual arts – where thread becomes thought, and material becomes metaphor. For Rosa, working across multiple media, fibre is not just a medium but a means of storytelling. With roots in landscape design and family traditions in embroidery and fashion design, Rosa’s creative language is layered, personal, and deeply connected to both nature and the human condition. Rosa holds a Bachelor of Visual Arts degree from UNISA (2015) and works in a variety of media, including painting, found objects, fibre/paper, and installation art. Her work has been recognised nationally, with finalist selections for the Sasol New Signatures exhibitions in 2009, 2011, and 2024. She is an active member of Contemporary Art Practice (CAP) group since 2015, Textile group (TAGS) since 2023 and became a member of Fibreworks in 2024 and is also part of the SCAVA and Attic Atelier in George.

This piece bridges the language of music with the luminous, atmospheric qualities of visual art. It dissolves the heavy organic forms into the composition, creating weightlessness, while the red stitched lines evoke strings tuned to a specific pitch.
