A Chorus of Light

Ester Zonnestein

Ester started to pursue her passion for art 26 years ago and established herself as a wildlife artist while working mainly with soft pastels. Her work is still well represented in galleries in South Africa and Namibia, where she was born and grew up. This year she was honoured to be selected for the second year in a row as a finalist in The Africa Wildlife Artist of the Year Competition and had her painting featured in the Michelangelo magazine.

Ester has also won several SCAVA awards in various categories throughout the years, showcasing her versatility. The last few years she ventured into experimenting more with other mediums and subjects like her big luminous flower paintings in oil.

In the Key of Light

These paintings have a quietness and luminosity about them.

The lilies together create a symphony of light, colour, and movement. The “chorus” indicates the collective beauty of nature, where no single bloom dominates, but each reflects the light in its own way.
