Having spent a career in the broader visual/conceptual realm, I continue exploring and discovering new connections through image making on an ‘freeform,’ intuitive, as well as on a commissioned basis. My work therefore ranges from representative subject matter to symbolism and abstract paintings. I am currently exploring the perception of time via geological phenomena, San myths, cosmology, and their rock art.
I have exhibited through numerous galleries including EverardRead, Cape Gallery, Artvark, Prince Albert gallery, Cape palette and online. I recently held a private exhibition at my studio featuring mark making explorations of Namibia’s time worn Urongo mountain area. During this two-day event, 13 of my 25 works sold – to local as well as international buyers.
I host creative sessions at my studio in Hoekwil addressing conceptual/mark making and expanded awareness and expression. I draw, paint/exhibit work in pencil, charcoal, watercolour, pastel oils, and acrylics.
I feel art making is an ongoing process of expanded sense of being.

This work is reminiscent of ‘theme and variation’ in musical terms. The Cape folded mountain ranges near Montagu echo’s landscape theme stated and restated in altered versions. From the distant mountains undulations in cool hues to the warmer undulating repetitive rhyming formed by successive hills and slopes. Punctuated by the ‘staccato’ scrub vegetation of this soulful Karoo scape.
